#BecomingFilipino - Eating Woodworms (Tamilok) in Kalibo

You can really find some interesting things to eat in the Philippines...

While spending a day in Kalibo, Aklan I found myself hanging out in a beautiful mangrove area along the coast. It just so happened that the locals had cultured something in the area... something you could eat... something called...

TAMILOK!

This long worm that kinda looks/tastes like an oyster can be found inside of wood in different mangrove areas of the Philippines. They are harvested using an axe, and can be find hidden inside giant holes of wood that have been chewed through!

This is my Tamilok experience!

I even made a "Tami-Halo"... Yikes!

Super Apir!
