How to Spend Halloween in Derry

Derry has Europe's largest Halloween festival, so I went to go check it out. In the 4 days leading up to Halloween, every night, you can walk on the Awakening the Walls Trail where hundreds of performers and light installations take over the streets of the city for you to walk amongst. Then on Halloween night, all the acts come together for a final grand parade followed by a fireworks display. And EVERYONE is wearing a costume. We also took a tour with Martin McCrossan City Tours to learn about Derry's spooky history.

As well as Halloween festivities, I went to a Derry Girls themed afternoon tea at the Everglades Hotel which was AWESOME! I loved it and got fed SO well. Great to spend Halloween on this island of Ireland – the Home of Halloween!
