Hello to all my friends, family and followers -- I have arrived safely in Yemen and I will be exploring deep into the country by myself and one local guy over the next week.
Yemen is (by far) the most difficult country in the world to visit in terms of logistics (getting a visa, planning, etc) and staying safe. I'm sure you are aware that since 2011, Yemen has been in a constant state of war. Tourists are not welcome here, and it's extremely risky for any traveler to visit at this moment -- especially as both an American and a journalist. I am double at risk.
That all being said, I am beyond excited to have this rare opportunity to take you inside one of the most hidden and raw cultures left on earth. My first 24 hours has already been one hell of an emotional ride (as you'll see in this video) -- and you will be hearing lots more over the coming week.
