Montenegro - From the Black Mountains to the sea

The Balkan land of Montenegro owes its name to the Black Mountains. But there is so much more: steep cliffs, deep gorges, picturesque lakes, orthodox monasteries, Venetian architecture, sandy beaches and even fjords like those of Norway. There are three climate zones alone in the Adriatic. The inhabitants still try to find their way between the challenges of a post-socialist system, the much-vaunted Balkan remoteness and the opportunities of a still almost completely undiscovered tourist destination in Europe.
