"Timeless Thailand" is not a typical travel video I often do since Thailand is my home country and you will be watching a video of Thailand through the eyes of a Thai. Most Thailand travel videos often involve beaches, parties, and elephants, and every cliche you would come to expect from a trip to Thailand, but I'm doing things a little differently here.

For this trip in Thailand, I decided to explore the less-traveled areas in Northern Thailand where the cradle of our nation began starting from Phitsanulok and traversed through some of the historically significant cities like Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Lampang, Lamphun, and eventually ended in Chiang Mai, where my camera broke down .

For this video, the concept of time comes to play quite heavily as I traveled through places like Sukhothai, which is the first kingdom of Siam established in 1248 and continued on to discover more and more of my country's history through the ancient ruins of Si Satchanalai, Phitsanulok, Kamphaeng Phet, followed by exploring the Lanna Kingdom which included Lampang, Lamphun, and Chiang Mai.

At the beginning of the video, I wanted to show the cradle of our country through the ruins of the old Siam and Lanna kingdom and as the video progresses, the video should show the architectural-style of these ruins shifted from the old rustic red sandstone to a more extravagant design of golden pagodas, signifying the progress of time and development.

As the video reaches about a 1-minute mark and the music slows down, I think it is a good time to convey how important Buddhism is throughout the history of Thailand as a way for the Thais to hold and unite each other in both good and bad times.

And then as the video picks up again, I go for epic drone footage (first time traveling with my own drone ) showing all the beautiful landscapes of Thailand's north before back to the ground and the end, showing you a montage of my time celebrating 2020 New Year in Lampang while showing you how the cultures of old and new coexist in modern-day Thailand hence why I decided to call this video, Timeless Thailand. Also, if you notice, the video progresses from early morning to night in 3 minutes which is another play in the concept of time.

I hope you will enjoy this video as much as I do making them. Did you recognize any of these places in the video? If so, please let us know in the comments below.
