The Grand Palace

The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of the city and has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. The king, his court, and his royal government were based on the grounds of the palace until 1925.

Wat Arun Ratchawararam

Also known as the Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, this Buddhist temple is found in the Bangkok Yai district and is easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok. The temple gets its name from the Hindu god Aruna, who is often personified as the radiations of the rising sun.

Chao Phraya River

Also known as the River of Kings, The Chao Phraya is the major river in Thailand that forms the centre of the country. The river flows through the entire city of Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand.

Wat Phra Chetuphon

The Wat Pho is one of the largest temples in the city. It’s best known for its giant reclining Buddha that is covered in gold leaf. You’ll need to take your shoes off to enter, and if you’d like a little good luck, you can buy a bowl of coins at the entrance of the hall which you can drop in the bowls which line the length of the walls.

Chinatown

Bangkok Chinatown is the largest Chinatown in the world and arguably one of the best to visit as well. You can find the best that Bangkok has to offer here with great food, bars and stunning temples.

MBK Center

The MBK Center is a large shopping mall found in the city center. At eight storeys, the mall has around 2,000 shops and restaurants including the 4-storey Tokyu department store.

Lumpini Park

Similar to Central Park in New York City, Lumphini Park is a beautiful park in Bangkok that offers rare open public space, trees, and playgrounds in the Thai capital and contains an artificial lake where visitors can rent boats.
