What is a cleaner shrimp you may ask? Well here is a Translucent cleaner shrimp we caught on camera while diving in the warm waters of Indonesia. These amazing ocean critters are so fascinating to watch! We hope you enjoy this video.
There are may types of cleaner shrimp when observing them they all have a different type of buddy they pair up with. This particular one is known as the Pederson's cleaner shrimp (Periclimenes pedersoni) and is generally found in warm tropical waters.
It is a relatively small translucent shrimp with blue, light blue, spots and strips located on it's tail, and legs and grow to about 3cm in length. It's translucence it's what give it its camouflage and allows it to hide and disappear among the sea anemone.
